Tech Discussions / Windows 11 / Windows Server 20...
Last post by travis - Jan 31, 2024, 09:22 PM
It looks like Windows is finally getting the sudo command... 44 years after UNIX already had it. Better late than never, right?

Quote from: WindowsLatest.comMicrosoft is testing native Sudo command support for Windows 11. The support for native "Sudo" command was spotted in a leaked Windows Server preview build, accidentally published to the Windows Update servers over the weekend.
I just want to point out that while the article keeps saying "Windows 11", they're showing screenshots of Windows Server 2025. So will sudo be coming to Windows 11 or will it just be reserved for Server? I think we're just going to have to wait and see. Knowing Microsoft, I see this being a "Server-only" feature. But I guess we'll see.

Well, it appears that others are starting to take Proxmox more serious now that Broadcom has shaken up the industry with VMware. As we provide Proxmox hosting, I am definitely hoping that Veeam provides direct integration! It would be great to be able to add Veeam into our own Proxmox environment for our own customers.

The Register has a great article: https://www.theregister.com/2024/01/22/veeam_proxmox_oracle_support/

If you're having issues installing updates on AlmaLinux 8.9 lately, there is a known issue where a signing key is not imported properly. This causes an "Error: GPG check FAILED" error when installing updates.

We have documented the workaround in our knowledge base: https://help.nodespace.com/knowledgebase.php?article=384
